The living room was quiet and sunlit. A little Bichon lay lazily on the carpet, half-asleep.
Pumpkii rolled over silently and stopped beside the dog. With a soft click, a few treats dropped to the floor.
The Bichon twitched its nose, got up slowly, and nibbled them one by one. When it was done, it didn’t move away—just settled back down, a little closer to Pumpkii.
Pumpkii stayed still, quietly keeping company.
After a moment, the Bichon edged closer and finally leaned against the machine. The cool surface made it adjust for a second, then it curled up and drifted off to sleep.
